Green Park - FURTHER INFORMATION

London virtual tour with a 360° panorama of 'Green Park' linked to a Google map. A London attractions travel guide.

Green Park is one of the central Royal Parks of London, and the official title is 'The Green Park'. Green Park lies between Hyde Park and St James Park. Nearby attractions include Buckingham Palace and Queen Victoria Memorial Gardens, Spencer House and Clarence House. Piccadilly runs along the northern edge of Green Park, starting at Hyde Park Corner at the western end and ending at Piccadilly Circus, passing the Ritz hotel and Fortnams & Masons en route.

Green Park was turned into a royal park by Charles II in 1668, when it was on the outskirts of London. It was for a firework display in Green Park in 1749 that Handel's Fireworks Music was specifically composed. Today the park is mostly a grassy area planted with trees. A tree lined walk runs from Green Park tube station down to Buckingham Palace.
