Onomea - Pool and Cave - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The Old Mamalahoa Way near Onomea is really scenic and really windy. It has numerous bridges that pass over streams in the tropical forest that grows on this side of Hawaii. This side of the island is much wetter than the east side, where most of the sandy beaches and tourists are. This little natural bathing pool and small waterfall cascading from the tunnel caught my eye, and hence the panoramic image. There were a couple of people jumping off the rocks and playing about at the time. Access to this point was down a steep slippery slope, and at one point I feared that my camera and I would join them in the water.
