Google Map Boscombe Beach - Bournemouth BeachPhotographer Description of Boscombe Beach - Bournemouth BeachIt was a very windy day when I took this panorama of Boscombe beach. My legs were getting sand blasted. It is because of this that, while sunny and warm, the beach was nearly empty giving a picture of miles of golden sand. The satellite view shows some people on the beach, but even that belies how crowded the place can really become at peak times. I then cycled the 7 miles or so to Sandbanks ferry taking pictures of the chines and beaches along the way. Against a strong headwind. With no shelter from the wind. My legs were not grateful.Boscombe Beach - Bournemouth Beach - Further InformationPanorama of Boscombe Beach taken to the right of Boscombe Pier. Boscombe beach is not as well known as Bournemouth Beach, but in fact they form one continuous stretch of sand that extends for miles all the way to Sandbanks. The Boscombe Pier, seen in this panoramic image, is currently being rebuilt, and is not open to the public. There is a beach train that runs from here to Bournemouth Beach along the promenade and then beyond serving many of the chines along the way to Sandbanks itself. The area is very well served with numerous hotels, especially along the cliff tops.Boscombe lies near the middle of the crescent that forms the bay between Hengistbury Head and Sandbanks, the road from the town center descends sharply down to the beach.
