Boscombe Pier Approach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama shows Boscombe Pier being rebuilt. It was taken from the area behind the pier, the pier approach. You can easily see the large number of hotels and flats that line the cliffs around Boscombe Beach. The beach and the area are empty because it was very windy. On a good day the area is teaming with tourists and locals enjoying the sand and sea.

Boscombe Pier Approach - Bournemouth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Boscombe Pier Approach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Dorset.
Panorama of Boscombe Pier taken from the approach area landside of the pier overlooking Boscombe Beach. Boscombe lies near the middle of the crescent that forms the bay between Hengistbury Head and Sandbanks. Buses serve this area and hotels line the cliff tops and the road up the hill to Boscombe itself. Boscombe pier and the surrounding area are being developed and there are plans to build an artificial surfing reef offshore to encourage surfing on Bournemouth Beach. Currently a popular place for surfing is next to Bournemouth Pier. A beach train runs from Boscombe Pier along the beach past West Undercilff and on to Bournemouth Pier. The train then continues towards Sandbanks serving the chines on the way.
Travel and Getting There:
A park and ride service is in operation between Boscombe bus station and Boscombe Pier during the summer months. There is limited parking at the pier itself along the promenade.
