Entrance to Weymouth Harbour and Marina - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

This panoramic view shows the entrance channel to Weymouth Marina. Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are widely recognised as having the finest small boat sailing waters in northern Europe. It is not at all surprising that the area is very well known for sailing given the natural beauty of the nearby coastline, which has now been proclaimed a World Heritage Site. Weymouth and Portland are going to host the sailing events in the 2012 Olympics. The Catamaran ferries for St Malo dock near here.
