Padstow (Lannwedhenek in Cornish) is an ancient port town on the north coast of Cornwall. Near to Wadebridge on the estuary of the Camel River, Padstow today is a very popular travel destination surrouned by beautiful contryside and coastline. It has several surfing and sailing schools as well as good walking and cycling.
Padstow has many bed and breakfast places as well as holiday cottages and hotels. As well as outdoor activities, the town is full of art and craft shops and galleries, full of works by local artists. It also has a number of good restaurants. Much of the focus is around the Inner Harbour, shown in this picture. A sea gate keeps the harbour full at low tide.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Car: Padstow is about 8 miles from Wadebridge (A38 and A389). it is about 14 miles from both Newquay and Bodmin. Parking available near the Tourist Information Office.
