The Portland Museum is based in thatched cottages just above Church Ope Cove on Portland. The museum contains numerous exhibits and galleries about the local history and geology of Portland. As part of the Jurassic coast there is also a rich fossil exhibition. Entrance is free to students and teachers and there are lovely gardens in which to relax.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
From Dorchester take the A354 about 8 miles south through Weymouth and then onto Portland and Portland Bill. The Portland Museum is on Wakeham, on the east side of the peninsula near to Church Ope Cove. The nearest bus stop is Easton Square Gardens.
