Beer Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Beer, an unspoilt Devon fishing village just west of Seaton, was once a haven for smugglers but is now a popular holiday destination. This was the beach on a hot summer's day in August.
On 20th January 2007 the damaged container ship MSC Napoli was beached offshore about 6 miles west of Beer following a decision by the Secretary of State, which caused considerable havoc and uproar with the local residents.
Nearby are Beer Quarry Caves, not really caves but underground limestone quarries dating back to Roman times with over 70 acres of tunnels, some of which are open for guided tours.
