Gold Hill - Middle - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken half way down Gold Hill in Shaftesbury. It is a very picturesque cobbled lane that descends steeply down a hill with lovely views of the hills of Dorset to the south of the town. The clouds had closed in just as I got here, and there did not look like being a break in them for some time to come. Shortly after this it begin to rain.

A panorama taken part way down Gold Hill, one of the most famous landmarks and attractions in Shaftesbury. The cobbled street was popularised by Hovis in numerous bread adverts. One side of the lane is lined with small cottages whilst the other side is formed by a large continuous and buttressed wall.
