Lansdowne Roundhouse Roundabout - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The roundabout at Lansdowne is a main thoroughfare directing traffic to various parts of Bournemouth. The building with the tall tower is the Bournemouth College. The Britannia Roundhouse Hotel is to the right of this. Getting onto the roundabout and back again was not too hard, but I was glad it was not rush hour. You can clearly see the circular Roundhouse Hotel building to the south of the roundabout if you zoom in on the satellite version of the Google map.

This panoramic image was taken from roundabout in Lansdowne in Bournemouth, sometimes called the Roundhouse roundabout after the Britannia Roundhouse Hotel located on one side of it. The roundabout is a major junction with roads leading off towards the town centre down Christchurch Road to the west. This road continues east from here to East Overcliff for Boscombe Pier and beaches. Bath Road heads past the Britannia Roundhouse Hotel, on the far side of the roundabout in this picture, towards the Royal Bath Hotel and Bournemouth beaches. To the Left of the white curved building visible (with a red KFC sign on in this picture) is Holdenhurst Road which leads to and the Bournemouth rail and bus stations. This panorama also shows Bournemouth College on Christchurch Road. The Britannia Roundhouse Hotel is on the opposite side of the roundabout.
Travel and Getting There:
From Christchurch and the east, take the A338 Wessex Way towards Bournemouth town centre. Follow signs for the rail station down the A35 (St Pauls Way) to the Holdenhurst roundabout. Then take the 3rd exit onto Holdenhurst Road which leads to the Roundhouse roundabout.
