Lock 11 on the Murray River - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

Panorama of Lock 11 on the Murray River in Mildura, Victoria, Australia. Lock 11 is a concrete chamber with four steel lock gates serving an increasing number of houseboats, cruise boats and other water craft. The difference between the upstream and downstream water levels is usually 3.6 metres. The lock was established by cutting a channel through a sharp bend and thereby creating Lock Island which is open to visitors.
