Can Xim Hotel is a small deluxe hotel in the rural village of Alaro on Mallorca, some 30 minutes outside Palma near the mountains. The hotel is on the western side of Alaro village square, which is the focus of village life with a weekly market, the old church at one end and lined with restaurants and cafes. The hotel is open all year round, making Can Xim an ideal place from which to explore the interior of Mallorca whilst still being within easy access of the famous beach resorts along the southern coast.Can Xim hotel has 8 individual rooms in a tastefully converted old house. Next door is the associated Traffic restaurant, well known for the good food. As would be expected of a deluxe hotel, each of the rooms has heating, air conditioning and internet access. The hotel also has a swimming pool available to guests. The restaurant terrace and hotel swimming pool are both shown in this hotel panorama. The hotel is open for Christmas and is a great place to base oneself for exploring Mallorca in the low season, or around early spring when the surrounding almond groves bloom and the walking season begins.
The area around Alaro is well known for both walking and cycling. It is not uncommon to see people hiking up to the Castle of Alaro and the ruins on the top of 'The Witches', two high and sheer promontories on the mountains to the north of the village. Also nearby is the beautiful valley and village of Orient, also famous for the walks and waterfalls. Palma is about half an hour away by train, which passes through Consell, Santa Maria and Marratxi into the Placa d'Espanya central train station in Palma.

Travel Directions and Getting There:
By Road: Alaro is about 30km northeast of Palma de Mallorca. From Palma take the Ma-13 Palma to [[634,Alcudia]] road. About 16km along the Ma-13 take the exit onto the MA-2050 signposted for Alaro. The road heads north for 5km to Alaro. It becomes the MA-2022 en route.
By Train: Trains to Alaro leave regularly from Palma. The train station is a little outside the village, and a bus links the station to near the center of the village in time with the trains. Make sure to buy a combination bus and train ticket if you want to use public transport between Alaro station and Alaro itself.
