Charmouth Beach - Stonebarrow Hill - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken on Charmouth Beach close to where the River Char enters the sea. The beach here is a mixture of shingle and sand, and while some people play on the beach, Charmouth is best known for both the coastal walks and fossil hunting.

Charmouth Beach - Stonebarrow Hill - Charmouth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Charmouth Beach - Stonebarrow Hill' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Dorset.
This panoramic picture shows Charmouth beach between the Heritage Centre and Stonebarrow Hill, where the River Char enters the sea. The car park is just behind the beach on the left side of the river. The picture shows some of the houses of Charmouth itself and the hills that ascend from the shoreline along the coast. The Heritage Center is on the right hand edge of this part of the beach, just below the hill that ascends to the west. In it there is lots of information about the Jurassic Coast. The Fossil Shop based there will hire out hammers for those wanting to hunt for fossils. Care must be taken as the cliffs are unstable and prone to falling.
Other panoramas from Charmouth show the beach west of the Heritage Centre and the view from the picnic area on the cliffs. More information about Charmouth and the surrounding coastline, including the walk to Goden Cap and the wonders of fossil hunting on this part of the Jurassic Coast are found on the other beach panorama.
