1st Hole on Braemar Golf Course - Braemar visitor guide showing a virtual tour of '1st Hole on Braemar Golf Course' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Aberdeenshire.
Braemar Golf Club, just south of Braemar in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is reputed to be the highest 18-hole course in the United Kingdom. It is open between March and October, shutting during the winter because of the weather. It has a new clubhouse with a fully licensed bar and catering.
The golf course at Braemar is not long, covering only 4935 yards, but it has 18 holes and a par of 65. It is set in beautiful scenery and is bisected by the Clunie River, which impacts play significantly at a number of the holes, demanding careful driving from the tee to avoid ending up in the river.
This virtual tour shows the view down the fairway from the opening tee, which is elevated with the hole some 300 yards away next to the Clunie River. The second hole at Braemar Golf Club is considered one of the most difficult par 4 holes in Scottish golf. And so the course goes on, winding back and forth for an exhilarating game.
