Los Gigantes is a popular destination in Tenerife, famous for the Acantilados de Los Gigantes cliffs after which it is named. Unlike other resorts, there is only one high-rise hotel and most of the holiday apartments have been built to blend in with the hillside. Los Gigantes can be found just south of the famous Acantilados de Los Gigantes, a dramatic, 500m high cliff formation which is a protected area. It is about 30 kilometres from Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos.
Within the resort is a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of different restaurants and a few clubs to choose from. The local port provides boat, and fishing trips and scuba diving, whith dolphin and whale watching depending on the time of the year. One large boat will cruise out of port blasting Pirates of the Carribean music, others are much quieter. There are also fast boat trips to Masca Bay, and the neighboring island of La Gomera.
