The Museu de Zoologia Historia Natural (Zoological and Natural History Museum) of Barcelona is in the northwest corner of the Parc de la Ciutadella. The building in which the museum is now housed was built by Domènech i Montaner in 1888 for the Universal Exhibition and was known as the 'Castel dels Tres Dragons'. For some time it contained a restaurant before the museum took over the premises in 1920. The museum contains over 85 thousand invertebrates, 800 arthropods, and 18,000 vertebrate exhibits. Combined with the neighbouring Geological Museum (Mueseu de Geologia) it forms the 'Museu de Ciencies Naturals'.
