Galilea - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The mountains surrounding this village are small and beautifully formed. The views are incredible to the South West. The streets are very narrow and steep in some places - clearly not built for modern traffic. This is one of the few 'undiscovered' places in Mallorca. From here, you can wind down into the valley of Puigpunyent or take the road right over the mountains arriving in the regional capital of Calvia.
Galilea - FURTHER INFORMATION

Galilea is a small village in Mallorca set 500m high on the southern slopes of the Galatzó mountain, close to Puigpunyent. The center of the village contains traditional houses built around the Immaculada Concepció church. The village square, next to the church, has a bar restaurant, and is the main meeting place in the village, both for the locals and the tourists and holiday makers visiting the area. The square of Galilea hosts the patron saint Fiesta that occurs on the 8th September annually.
The best known hotel in the area is the Scotts Galilea hotel and apartments which is set above the village and overlooks the church and village centre. This hotel has a well deserved reputation for excellence and quality.
Galilea is a hidden and undiscovered little hideaway, far removed from the busy beach resorts and modern hotels around the coast. Here there are spectacular views over the Calvià coast, the streets are quiet and the air fresh. Most people come to Galilea from Puigpunyent in the east, but one can also reach the village from the west along the narrow mountain road that passes through untouched forest to Es Capdellà.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
From Palma take the MA-1040 north towards Esporles for about 2.5km. Then take the MA-1041 to Puigpunyent followed by the MA-1032 to Galilea. This is a narrow and windy road, and the traffic can be quite slow.
