San Antonio Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panoramic image from Sant Antoni de Portmany shows the beach. The panorama was taken late in the evening. The picture shows some poeple playing volleyball on the beach. This is a good place for a view over the whole of the bay of Sant Antoni, and most of the coastline is built up with hotels and apartments. In the distance on the water in front of the hotels are the masts of all the pleasure boats and yachts in San Antoni Marina. Behind the towns are the hills of Ibiza.

The beach of Sant Antoni de Portmany (English: San Antonio) runs all along the front of the town, one of the most popular travel destinations in Ibiza. A sight of sunbathing and water sports in the daytime, the beach of San Antonio turns into partyland in the evening as the thousands of visiting clubbers descend onthe nightclubs in the area. San Antoni boast some of the largest night clubs in the world and is famous for the massive concerts hosting world class DJ's. The town is hugely popular with young holiday makers who spend most evenings dancing and drinking and the daytimes recovering on the surrounding beaches. This has given Sant Antoni a poor reputation in other sectors of the travel industry, but unless and until tourism and holiday trends among the young change, Sant Antoni and Ibiza are among the most popular party destinations in the world.
Sant Antoni de Portmany BeachesAs well as the bach of Sant Antoni itself, recovering clubbers can be found on the numerous other beaches and calas nearby. To the east are Calo des Moro and Cala Gració. Heading out west from San Antonio are S'Estanyol, Cala Pinet, Cala de Bou, Calo d s'Oli, Port des Torrents and Cala Bassa. Many of these have ferry services that run regularly during the summer months. Many are also heavily developed with large hotels.
