The Piaza del Parc in Ibiza town is a very busy place from late in the afternoon to very late at night (early in the morning). The square is close to the harbour and marina, lined with numerous hotels, cafes and bars and planted with trees. This panorama shows some of the activity in the square in the late afternoon. This panorama was taken from Piaza del Parc, one of the central squares of Eivissa. Eivissa (Ibiza) is the principle town on the island of Ibiza. It is on the southern coast of Ibiza close to the Aeroport des Codolar. The area is heavily developed for the tourist trade, full of hotels for all budgets, and numerous night bars and clubs. Ibiza is a very well known and popular holiday destination and most people pass through Eivissa town to other destinations on Ibiza, especially to San Antonio for the clubs, parties and beaches on north Ibiza.There are numerous beaches close to Eivissa itself, among which are Ses Figueretes, Cala Talamanca, Cala Roja and the famous long sandy beach of Platja d'en Bossa to the south of Eivissa. All of these are heavily developed with hotels, villas and holiday apartments.
Travel Directions and Getting there
Three main roads fan out from Eivissa to serve the various parts of Ibiza. The PM-803 heads northeast to San Antonio via the towns of Sant Josep an San Augusti. The C-731 is the most direct route from Eivissa to San Antonio through the center of the island, passing through Sant Rafel. Finally, the C-733 heads out east before splitting into other roads that link to Santa Eularia, Sant Joan and the beaches and resorts in the east and northeast Ibiza.
Ferries link Ibiza to the other Balearic islands of Mallorca and Menorca, as well as to Barcelona and other destinations on the Spanish mainland.
