Coatline near Sa Caleta - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

I loved the rugged and isolated coastline along the roads in this part of Ibiza, so I stopped to take a panorama. The image give great views over the sea, and along the cliffs worn into weird shapes by the salt and wind. This panoramic image was taken between Sa Caleta and Es Codolar beach.

The coastline around Sa Caleta near the southern end of Ibiza is very rugged, with low cliffs plunging into the clear blue waters. This area is quite exposed, but very quiet.

Cala Caleta is important historically as nearby are the ruined remains of the first Phoenician settlement in Ibiza, established around 650BC on a low promontory beside a tiny natural harbour. Sa Caleta has been a Cultural Heritage site since 1993 and in 1999 it was declared a World Heritage Site.
