Juf in Switzerland is the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe at 2126m. It is situated in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, at the end of the road from Avers, and close to the Italian border.

Juf has about 30 people who live here all year round making a living form farming. It is in the Averser Valley, at the foot of the Septimer Pass and Mt. Staller. There is a small inn, which accommodates visitors and nature lovers wishing to explore this wild region where the tarmac road ends and from where many hiking trails start.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
From Chur (about 60km away) take the A13 (E43) south. After about 37km, just after Barenburg, take the turning signposted for Ausseferrrera up into the mountains. Follow signs to Avers and then continue to Juf which is at the end of the road.
