River Cherwell Weir - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The weir on the river Cherwell by University Parks is a very relaxing place to be. The spot where these images were taken on the east side of the weir is outside the parks itself, and not many people come here. It is always amusing to sit and watch the punters struggle not to loose their poles as the try to navigate their way to the edge of the weir.

This panorama shows the lake formed by the weir on the River Cherwell which runs along the easter edge of University Parks in Oxford. Near to here is a ramp of rollers for punters to transfer their punts from one part of the river to the other. It is not uncommon to see people struggling with the boats, which are about as difficult to maneuver on land as they are in the water.
