Wadham College Chapel - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama shows the interior of the chapel of Wadham College. College students and alumni are allowed to get married here providing they fulfill certain conditions. Weddings in the chapels of the various chapels of the Oxford University chapels are very popular, the colleges and grounds offering spectacular settings for both the ceremony and celebrations. The wooden paneling and stained glass windows in this tiny chapel are beautiful.

A panoramic image of the Chapel at Wadham College in Oxford. The chapel was built at the same time as the original college and dates from between 1610 and 1613. It was designed by William Arnold in a conservative Gothic style. The great screen near the entrance of the chapel is by the college's master-carpenter William Bolton. The pulpit is original, while the wooden paneling and stalls date from the late 19C.
This panorama opens facing the altar and large great east stained glasss window which was commissioned from the Dutch artist Bernard Van Linge in 1621 for £100. The communion-rail and diamond-pattern flooring visible in the image date from 1669-70. There is another panorama taken from the College Gardens, which shows part of the outside of the chapel.
