The River Cherwell meanders slowly past Christ Church Meadows, and many people take every opportunity to relax on the banks. Amusement is often provided by unsure punters trying desperately to avoid other punts and the banks of the river as they pole along.

Panorama from Oxford taken from the banks of the River Cherwell as it flows under Magdalen Bridge and passes along the eastern edge of Christ Church Meadow. At this point the path joins Broadwalk and passes along the southern edge of Merton Field and Christ Church Gatehouse before entering the War Memorial Gardens and then finally linking up with St Aldgates.

The nearest entrance to this point is on Rose Lane, beside the Botanical Gardens.
