High Street - Longwall Street - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
It was the church-like building on the opposite corner and the view down to Magdalen College Tower that caught my attention here. The traffic island in the middle of the street was just large enough to provide protection for me and the tripod while shooting the photographs for this panorama.

High Street - Longwall Street - Oxford visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'High Street - Longwall Street' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Oxfordshire.
This panorama shows the junction of High Street and Longwall Street in Oxford city centre. Longwall Street is so named after the long wall which runs down the east side of the street marking out the boundary of Magdalen College ground and the Magdalen Deer Park. The famous college tower is visible in this panorama further down High Street. A choir sings hymns from here on May Day morning and students still have a habit of throwing themselves off Magdalen Bridge next to it into the River Cherwell. Both the University Chruch of St Mary the Virgin and Carfax Tower are further west on High Street, and these have viewing platforms giving panoramic views over the city.
