Castle Mound is quite a small hillock about 300m outside the northern edge of the historic city centre of Cambridge. There is a spiral path to the top, where this panorama was taken.

The Castle Mound of Cambridge is an ancient monument to the north of the city. From the top there is a good panoramic view over the rest of Cambridge, as shown in this panorama. The Shire Hall is nearby at the bottom of the mound.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE

Castle Mound is on Castle Street, to the north of the old town. Castle Hill links the A1303 and the A1134.
