Hobsons Monument used to be in the middle of Cambridge, but after a fire it was moved to the current location. A testament to a feat of engineering, it now stands on a very busy intersection.

Hobsons Conduit is the monument built to mark a waterway that originally brought water to Cambridge along a conduit of the same name. Hobsons Conduit used to stand in the Market, but was moved to the current location in 1856. This hexagonal monument stands on the edge of the ring road to the south of the city.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Car: From the M11 take the A603 ring road round the south of Cambridge. Hobsons Monument is on the corner of Lensfield Road and Trumptington Road, close to the Fitzwilliam Museum.
