St Louis en l'Ile Church - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
I was very surprised on entering the church of St Louis en l'Ile. As this panorama reveals, the inside of the church is light an airy, a vast interior, with a much more inviting feel than the vast dark cavern of the Notre Dame. This is not a major tourist attraction in Paris, and quite off the normal beaten track.

The St Louis en l'Ile Church is, as the name suggests, a church on the Ile St Louis in Paris. The church, built in 1622, is atmospheric with a vast, stunning wooden door decorated with angels. Inside, it is surprisingly impressive and immense, and much brighter and lighter than the Notre Dame de Paris on the adjoining Île de la Cité. It is well worth a visit if you are passing through the area. The Pont de la Tournelle links the island to the south of Paris near here.
