Sainte-Chapelle - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was very hard to take. The interior of Sainte-Chapelle is very dark, and there was really no place to balance a camera. In the end I spent about an hour on the floor having mounted the camera on the panoramic head alone and then tried to hold this as steady as possible while taking the required photographs. Not at all easy as this is one of the most popular attractions in Paris and groups of people continued to drift around the chapel. Eventually the chapel quietened down over the lunch period, and I managed to take this panorama. The picture does not do Sainte-Chapelle justice, but may give some impression.

Sainte-Chapelle stands in the grounds of the Palais de Justice on the Île de la Cité in Paris. It is the most visited attraction on the island after Notre Dame. Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) was built by Louis IX of France, who constructed it as a chapel for the royal palace between 1246 and 1248, with amazing stained glass windows. The best time to visit is just before lunch, as the ticket office closes for an hour over lunch and most people then file out of the chapel leaving it relatively empty and quiet for a short time.
