Eglise des Soldats - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken inside the Eglise des Soldats by balancing the camera on one of the church pews near the front of the church. The church is very impressive inside. The day was bright with broken clouds, which meant that the light levels in the church kept changing as the pictures were taken. This was quite a difficult image to produce. Of particular note within the church were the marble pulpit and huge organ.

The Eglise des Soldats in Paris used to be part of a much larger church, but this was split into two, the other being the much more famous Eglise du Dôme (Church of the Dome) which houses the remains of Napoleon and is a very popular tourist attraction in Paris. Both churches are in the Hotel des Invalides complex which also houses a number of museums. Among the museums here are the Musée de l'Armé, Musée des Plans-reliefs, Musée d'Histoire Contomporaine (Museum of Contemporary History) and the Musée de l'Ordre et del la Libération
