Square Willette - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was shot late in the afternoon near the bottom of Square Willette, the hill and garden that lead up Butte Montmartre to the basilica of Sacre Coeur. There is a small fairground and merry-go-round at the bottom of the hill. A funicular to the left of the hill takes passengers up to Sacre Coeur who do not want to walk up the hill, though if you can, the walk up is worth it.

Square Willette is a large garden / park on the south-east slope of Butte Montmartre. Created by Alphand in 1880, it is today a very popular park in Paris, and the main way to ascend to the Sacré-Coeur Basilica which stands at the top. On the way up there is a panoramic view over Paris from near the top. There is another picture showing the view from part way up the hill in this panorama of Square Willette and Sacre Coeur. Square Willette and the basilica are close to the Place du Tertre and the church of Saint Pierre de Montmartre.
