Passerelle Solferino - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken from the middle of the Passerelle Solferino bridge across the River Seine in Paris. The bridge is now called the Leopold Sedar Senghor bridge. The panorama shows the view up and down the Seine. The picture also shows a tourist cruise ship showing off the sights of Paris. The satellite image on the Google map of Paris shows 2 cruise boats really close together here. I suspect they may be the same boat.

The Passerelle Solférino is a footbridge across the River Seine in Paris connecting the Musée d'Orsay with the jardin des Tuileries, close to the Louvre. The next bridge upriver is the Pont Royal, and the next downriver is the Pont de la Concorde. River cruises often pass under this bridge, as shown by the boat in this panoramic image. Discounts on such cruises may be available with the Paris Pass.
The first bridge here was built by Napoleon III in 1861. The current bridge was built between 1997 and 1999. It is a single span bridge, with no contact with the water, helping to protect the bridge from barges that use the Seine. The was renamed the Léopold Sédar Senghor bridge on October 9, 2006, to mark the centenary birthday of Léopold Sédar Senghor, the first president of Senegal.
