Quai des Orfèvres - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama from the Quai des Orfevres on the southern side of the Ile de la Cite in Paris. The panorama shows the view down this section of the River Seine. This is a quiet and restful place, just sit and watch the water flow by and the people strolling along the Seine. I liked the views and the buildings on the other side. However, as these are north-facing, they mostly in shadow when photographed, as can be seen in this picture.

The Quai des Orfèvres runs along the southern side of the Île de la Cité (Ile de la Cite) in Paris, but stops short of the famous Notre Dame de Paris. Hidden behind the wall is the Palais de Justice and the Sainte-Chapelle. Two bridges across the River Seine are visible in this panoramic image, the Pont St Michael lies upriver. One of the towers of the Notre Dame can be seen rising above the Place du Parvis Notre-Dame which lies just beyond this bridge. Downriver is the famous Pont Neuf, and visible through the arches of this bridge in the picture is the Pont des Arts which links the Louvre Museum with the Institut de France.
