Eglise du Dôme - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The Eglise du Dome church is a very tall building. This meant standing quite a distance back to get the whole height in an panorama. This panorama was taken from Avenue de La Tourville looking back onto the church. The dome is spectacular, shining brightly in the sun and standing out against the blue sky as seen in this picture.

Panorama showing the Eglise du Dôme in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The dome of the church is modeled on the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The rest of the church is built in French Baroque style.
L'Eglise du Dôme is probably most famous as the burial site of Napoleon, and Napoleon's red porphyry sarcophagus is in l'Eglise du Dome. This is a major tourist attraction in Paris, with thousands of people flocking to see the sarcophagus and the rest of the church.
The Eglise du Dôme is also part of a larger complex, called the Hotel des Invalides. This former military hospital has now been converted into a number of museums and attractions which include the Musée de l'Armée (Museum of the Army) and Musée des Plans-reliefs, Musée d'Histoire Contomporaine (Museum of Contemporary History) and the Musée de l'Ordre et del la Libération.
