Manly Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Manly Beach is one of the tourist highlights in Sydney and many people flock there to enjoy the sand and sea. This panorama was taken late in the day, and it was quite windy, so the beach is emptier than normal. At the height of the summer Manly beach is packed.
Manly Beach - FURTHER INFORMATION
Manly Beach - Sydney visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Manly Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from New South Wales.
Panorama of Manly Beach between North and South Steyne, just south of Queenscliff. Adjacent to the Sydney Harbour National Park, on the eastern shore of Manly peninsula, this popular surfing beach is a favourite playground of those living in Sydney's northerly districts.
Manly beach is a long, narrow beach with a long right hand breaking wave caused by the reef, giving ideal surfing conditions. The beach is a short walk from Shelly Beach and Fairy Bower.
Named by the first Governor after the manly appearance of the indigenous people, Manly peninsula is mostly known for it's beaches and it's Norfolk Pine trees which line the waterfront. This beach lies to the eastern side but to the west are the sheltered, calm waters of Sydney Harbour and the ferry wharf for easy accessibility by Jetcat or ferry to the southern shores of central Sydney harbour and it's business district.
