Pyrmont bridge carries the electric monorail between Pyrmont and Darling Harbour and the central business district areas of Sydney. Having undergone extensive regeneration work to improve and enhance both the entertainment and tourism facilities here, this pedestrian bridge is central linking the shops, restaurants, entertainments and tourism facilities of the surrounding areas.
This area has hosted events during the Commonwealth games and houses several major attractions including the world's largest IMAX theatre, the Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife World, Chinese Gardens and the National Maritime Museum.
The warship visible in this panorama is the HMAS Vampire, a daring-class destroyer once seeing active service as part of the Australian Navy during the Cold War. She now has the honour of serving as a museum ship and the largest floating exhibition at the Maritime Museum.
