Twelve Apostles from Gibson Steps Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
It is possible to walk along the beach at Gibson Steps back to a couple of the Twelve Apostles stacks at low tide. This panorama was taken doing that and then perching precariously on top of a large boulder to get a shot that included the stacks. The tide was coming in, and the waves began to lap around my perch. Worth it though.
Twelve Apostles from Gibson Steps Beach - FURTHER INFORMATION
Twelve Apostles from Gibson Steps Beach - Great Ocean Road visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Twelve Apostles from Gibson Steps Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Victoria.
The Twelve Apostles line the coastline in Port Campbell National Park on the Great Ocean Road. Two of the stacks stand just offshore from the beach below Gibson Steps, as can be seen from the End Viewpoint at the Twelve Apostles.
The beach below Gibson Steps is popular with onshore fishing and surfing. There are rip tides in the area and the possibility of sharks. There is no life guard on the beach and no amenities. It is not a very popular attraction along the Ocean Road, but it is worth walking along it to see two of the Twelve Apostles from sea level.
