The Basin is a small beach and bay that lies between Longreach Bay and Pinky Beachon Rottnest Island. The Bathurst Lighthouseis visible beyond the right hand end of the beach. The beach at The Basin is very popular with visitors, it has white sand, a shallow and small protected cove ideal for swimming It is one of the few beaches with toilets, and is within easy walking distance of the ferries that dock at Thomson Bay.

The Basin is just over 1km from the main landing jetty of Rottnest Island at Thomson Bay.
