View over to Cathedral Rocks - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken from the cliffs at the far west end of Rottnest Island looking over the shallow waters to Cathedral Rocks. At the time I took this picture there were seals on the rocks and in the water, and a pod of dolphins were swimming by. Cathedral Rocks are to the shallow rocks to the left of the cliffs.

Cathedral Rocks lie just north of the eastern end of Rottnest Island, close to Eagle Bay and Cape Vlamingh. The island this remote coastline is a haven for wildlife, and seals and dolphins are often seen in the water at the right time of year. The waters around Cathedral Rocks are popular with both surfers and snorkellers, but care must be taken when near wildlife.
On the 6 August 1984 the 36 metre Japanese tuna fishing vessel known as the 'Kiryo Maru' ran aground off Cathedral Rocks.
