Little Parakeet Bay Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama shows the clear still waters and sandy beach at Little Parakeet Bay. The bay is littered with jagged rock formations which make a dramatic backdrop. The panorama was taken early in the afternoon in December and a storm is brewing in the cloudy skies.

Little Parakeet Bay is on the northern side of Rottnest Island, about 3km from Thomson Bay. The majority of the bay is hidden behind the rocky outcrop seen to the left of the beach in this image, beyond which there is a larger sandy beach, as can be seen on the satellite view of the Google map of Rottnest if you zoom in.
The bay is known as a good, safe place to swim as it is shallow and well protected. However, the beach has no amenities. The bay is managed under the Little Parakeet Bay Management Zone, and is designated as a no-boating and no daylight fishing area adjacent to the shoreline.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Either by bus or cycle from Thomson Bay, which is about 3km away.
