The skyscrapers of the central business district dominate the skyline on one side of the harbour, whilst on the other are the large indoor Shopping Center (nearest to the bridge exit) next door to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center. In the far distance at the head of the harbour is the Imax cinema complex with it's eye-catching black and yellow checkerboard facade.

Pyrmont Bridge is an important link carrying pedestrians and monorail passengers between the central business district and the extensive tourist and entertainment facilities, hotels, shops and restaurants.
