Photographer Description of View from top of Hoover Tower

The top of the Hoover Tower has a viewing platform, which is surrounded with grills. This panorama was created taking a number of images through the grills and then splicing them together. It gives an impression of what the view over Stanford University and Palo Alto would be like this high without the tower.

View from top of Hoover Tower - Further Information

The Hoover Tower is in one of the principle landmarks of Stanford University. The tower was built to mark the 50th anniversary of the University. It is 285 feet high, and near the top is the viewing platform which offers views over the surrounding area.

Within the viewing area is a carillon, a musical instrument of 48 bells. For more information about this and the history of the Hoover Tower, please see the Hoover Tower Viewing Platform panorama
