First Ridge on Bear Mountain Trail - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
As you go up the Bear Mountain trail in Sedona, you come to a ridge that offers a fantastic view back over the valley. This viewpoint is near the bottom of the 4 hour hike which takes you to the top of Bear Mountain. This panorama was taken from near the trail on the ridge. Behind are fantastic red sandstone cliffs.

Bear Mountain Trail in Sedona, a hiking route up through the Red Rocks up onto the Colorado Plateau.
Bear Mountain lies to the north west of Sedona. Many guided tour excursions can be arranged in the city. Climbing some of the Sandstone cliffs, such as Cathedral Rock, can match any mountain for it's difficulty and challenge. For the less energetic, off-road jeeps, buggies and horse-trails criss-cross the countryside.
Further up at the summit of Bear Mountain Trail, our energetic Chief Photographer took this panorama showing the view out over the horizon and back towards Sedona city and the Oak Creek Canyon.
