Stingray Bay - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Stingray Bay is on the way to Cathedral Cove. You can often see stingrays in the water here. At high tide the beach is covered. Most people simply come down this side route off the Cathedral Cove walk to try to see the rays and then move on.

Stingray Bay is part of the Te Whanganui-A-Hei marine reserve in Coromandel close to Hahei. It is the second bay on the walk to Cathedral Cove, after Gemstone Bay and about 30 minutes from the Cathedral Cove car park. While much of the beach is only exposed at low tide, it is possible to stand on the large boulders near to where the path comes down the cliff and look for stingrays in the water.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Walk from the car park at the end of Grange Road near Hahei. Also accessible by sea kyak and boat.
