Lonely Bay lies to the west of Cooks Beach, under the edge of Shakespeare Cliff. This beach is only accessible by a gravel path or by boat or sea kyak. This is a relatively secluded and quiet beach, but worth the effort to get to. There are no amenities or facilities. At low tide it is possible to reach the rocks at the bottom of Shakespeare Cliff. At the other end of Cooks Beach is the Purangi Reserve and beach.
