The rocks at the base of Shakespeare Cliff are exposed at low tide and accessible on foot from Lonely Bay, which is just to the east of Cooks Beach. Both of these beaches can be seen in this panorama. On the other side of the headland beyond Cooks Beach is the famous Cathedral Cove. To the north lies Mercury Bay.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Car: From the 25 highway, take the Hot Water Beach Road and then the Purangi Road. Continue past Cook Beach towards the Ferry Landing. There is a gravel road which leads to Shakespeare Cliff, Shakespeare Reserve and Lonely Bay.
