The rocks at the base of Shakespeare Cliff are exposed at low tide and accessible from Lonely Bay. Lonely Bay, and Cooks Beach beyond it, can both be seen in this panorama. On the other side of the headland east of Cooks Beach is the famous Cathedral Cove. To the north lies Mercury Bay. Sea kyaking around this coastline is a very popular holiday activity and it is easy to see why.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Walk: By foot from Lonely Bay.
Car: From the 25 highway, take the Hot Water Beach Road and then the Purangi Road to Cooks Beach. Then follow the Captain Cook Road to the end.
