City Beach - FURTHER INFORMATION
City Beach - Perth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'City Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Western Australia.
Panorama of City Beach, a sandy shore 8 miles west of the center of Perth just 15 mins drive away making it very popular with city-dwellers.
Beautifully unspoilt, this long narrow beach with sand dunes is sheltered from the nearby highway by a strip of parkland intended to buffer the beach from the traffic noise and pollution. In 1999, it won the prestigious "Beat Beach" award presented by the Keep Australia Beautiful Council.
The Coastal Walk and Cycle Way both start from here and head north right up to Hillarys Boat Harbour. Regular life-saving events are held here. The beach is very well served with amenities including public & disabled toilets, showers, children's playground, public barbecues and food vending kiosks, telephones, car park, special areas with shelter and swimming flag sections. Nearby is the golf course and there are also restaurants a short walk away.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
City beach runs parallel to Highway 71 and lies between the districts of Mt. Claremont and Churchlands, south of the intersection with Highway 72.
