A panorama overlooking the Swan River from one of the piers at the Barrack Street Jetty in Perth. The river here is very wide. The jetty here has become something of a tourist attraction.

The Barrack Street Jetty is the closest ferry terminal to the Perth CBD, some of the buildings of which can be seen in the skyline. Also visible is the top of the Swan Bells Tower, a major tourist attraction of Perth. One of the piers at the Barrack Street Jetty serves the Trans-Perth ferry services. Another provides ferries to Rottnest Island and Carnac Island.
Several boat trips are available at the Barrack Street Jetty. Amongst others, these serve South Perth, the Swan Valley and Fremantle. Formerly known as the Old Perth Port, it has become an important central hub to the transportation network and is well served by cafes, food and souvenir shops and rest facilities.
