Fire Safety Education Centre & Museum - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama shows the front of the Fire Safety Education Centre & Museum. It is one of the older buildings in Perth. The museum was closed while I was there, undergoing refurbishment. This old building was Western Australia's first purpose-built fire station when it was opened in 1901.

Fire Safety Education Centre & Museum - Perth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Fire Safety Education Centre & Museum' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Western Australia.
Panorama taken outside the Perth Fire Safety Education Centre and Museum. The center is a showcase to educate children and adults about how firefighting has evolved in Australia, from early beginnings through to modern-day cutting edge techniques and technologies. Amongst its 6000 items, this two storey building holds displays of equipment and has a 1927 Dennis fire engine amongst the 21 appliances on display.
Education is the major focus of the center. They work with adults and children as young as pre-schoolers to teach about fire prevention, recognising hazards and understanding the devastating consequences of fire both inside and outside the home.
The building was the first purpose-built fire station in Western Australia and is on the State Register of Heritage Places. The Perth Brigade moved out in 1979 into newer accommodations, at which time this building was restored to it's original design (without the stables) and reopened as the museum.
